Have you ever wanted to print your images to give to someone special or even for yourself? Have no fear, with Canon HDbooks they look very professional on quality gloss photo paper and so easy to create.
Setting Up
When you open up the photo online designer you will see a blue “add pictures” button in the top left. When it’s selected you can download images from your computer or Facebook, Flickr and Instagram. Very clever to link to these sites.
Because I want mine to be the best resolution possible, I thought it’s best to upload straight from my mac into the designer. I uploaded quite a few images to give me a better variety. Those images appear in the slideshow to the left.
I choose carefully which would be my front cover. I wanted something that would stand out. I also thought about what I wanted to call my book. By adding a text box to the front, you can choose a font of your choosing, as well as underline, bold, italic etc. Place it strategically, so it’s not obscuring anything important in your image.
It didn’t lay out every page how I wanted it but this meant I didn’t have much tweaking to do to make it perfect. I love white space for my images, it makes it very clean. I also love how the “Autofill” generated double page spreads.
Once I uploaded all my images I could then look through the book to make sure everything was how I wanted it. Next step was to press the green “Order” in the top right corner and the software will then generate the HD book with a thumbs up Congratulations.
Package Delivery
Within a few days my order had arrived and I was very excited to see the book. When I opened it I was surprised to how well made it was. I used to be in the print industry and I know how the blacks can look very faded on different types of printers. Well the blacks on my images were very dark and rich. Perfect for how I wanted them to look.
I’ve received a few photobooks over the past 3-4 years and I must say the the Canon HDbook is the BEST I’ve had. Even the wife said “WOW! How nice is that”. You know you’re onto a winner when the wife agrees, lol 😉
Please don’t take my word for it, why not check it out for yourself. I promise you, you will not be dissapointed!
Give it to someone special this year for Christmas.
Huge thanks to Canon HDbooks for collaborating with me to produce this high quality photobook.
